The original sign said "Cures Weak Women" across the bottom

The name of the restaurant...originally, Doc Pierce's Saloon was inspired by this sign on the side of the building. When the building next door burned and was torn down, the sign was revealed.
Dr. Pierce was a patent medicine salesman in the early 1900's

The building at 120 N. Main Street was purchased in late 1975 and remodeling began for a restaurant and bar.  Coy Jankowsky, one of the original owners and designer of the restaurant, purchased a collection of antique stained glass windows in Nashville, In The stained glass is all backlit to imitate the effects of sun shining through.  Other antique atifacts include a carrousel horse and a pot belly stove

The Restaurant opened in July of 1976 by Coy Jankowsky, Tom Wilson, Bruce Tassell and Pat Tassell.

Doc Pierce's is known for it's Aged and hand cut Steaks and Jumbo peel and eat Shrimp
